'Anderson' coming back for second season

Cooper Fox Television Stations have renewed talkshow "Anderson" in Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston while also acquiring the Anderson Cooper daytime skein for its stations in NY, Minneapolis and Tampa."Anderson" has also been renewed in several markets by LIN (Indianapolis, Hartford, Norfolk, Austin, Buffalo, Providence, Dayton, Toledo and Terre Haute), Midwest (San Diego), Meredith (Phoenix, Las Vegas, Flint), Gannett (Jacksonville), Lilly (Erie) and Sun Broadcasting (Fort Myers)."This is a terrific testament to these strong stations who, like us, see 'Anderson' as the next early-fringe syndication franchise," Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution prexy Ken Werner said."Since its launch, the series has continued to grow and find its voice in a very competitive and fragmented landscape. We have great faith in 'Anderson' and with strong station partners, we believe we are well on the way to creating a valuable news lead-in."With the renewal, "Anderson" has proven its ability to fill at least part of the void left by the departure of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."StrongChild Prods. produces "Anderson" in association with Telepictures Prods."The show is off to a good start and has the opportunity to grow organically into something unique," said Telepictures prexy Hilary Estey McLoughlin.Fox is acquiring "Anderson" in NY from Tribune, according to Broadcasting and Cable, which first reported the renewal."I am enjoying the daytime show tremendously and am looking forward to what lies ahead," Cooper said.
